Internet Strategies-Part I
- After the Bubble
The rise of excessive exuberance and the decimation of a pop financial house of cards...but did we return to life as it was before the bubble, or is life truly different?

The Internet created not just opportunity, but a vortex where new models of virtual business are imagined. Medieval marketplaces re-emerge where customers haggle with merchants over the price of tea in China and E-Bay takes $2 on every transaction. Jonathan Lebed is investigated by the SEC for market manipulation, reporting a price target on speculative stock issues, just like market analysts on MS-NBC, except that he was only 14 years old.

Tom will reveal undercurrents of internet thinking and strategy. Participants will identify where these ideas can be useful to create an effective electronic presence. This program deals with strategic decisions of infrastructure, not "How to Create a Web Page."
  • New Models of Internet Thinking
  • Defining your e-customer
  • Creating your electronic relationship
  • Understanding a Customer lead strategy.
  • Creating the digital components of this jigsaw puzzle
  • Assembling your Web Team (first, destroy the old one)
  • Staging the development of an effective Web strategy
  • The true leverage inside an electronic community
  • The keys to the kingdom

Chronicles of successful internet strategies, case studies and a lively interactive session will provide the participant a greater understanding how to lead their organization on this new quest. Unless, of course, the internet turns out to be just a fad.

  • Forming an effective Web Team
  • Designing your website from the outside-in.
  • Web Components
  • Site Structure
  • The Critical Home Page
  • Optimizing for Search Engines
  • Driving traffic to your site
  • Pull through marketing
  • Advertising & Banners
  • Driving more traffic to your site
  • Back-end site infrastructure
  • Measuring what happens
